Cementitious Epoxy Mortar
Mitchmortar EP is a specially designed three component cementitious epoxy repair mortar system consisting of pre-measured quantities of resin, hardener and aggregate. Applied as a patching compound for repairing concrete surfaces, it provides a durable, seamless finish to horizontal and vertical concrete surfaces. It makes the surface water proof and highly resistant against the attacks of acids, alkalis and other aggressive liquids. It also is recommended for repairing structural cracks, non-moving joints and other defects in concrete structures. For aesthetic considerations, Mitchmortar EP is available in a variety of colours and shades. It is easy to apply and the three components are mixed at site just prior to application.
Mitchmortar EP is primarily recommended as a patching and repair compound for concrete floors and walls. As a 3 to 20 mm floor topping or re-surfacing system, it provides a high strength, non-abrasive, chemical and dust proof surface for Clean Labs, Pharmaceutical Plants, Food Processing Industries, Power Plants, Chemical Plants, Automobile Plants & Workshops, Refineries, Fertilizer and Sugar Plants, Battery Rooms, Water and Oil tanks and all other applications where an impervious and resilient surface is required.

7.2 Kg Three Component Pack
Approx 9 sft per Pack, in 5 mm thickness
The Resin and Hardener components (marked “A” & “B”) of Mitchmortar EP should be poured in a clean container and mixed with a slow speed drill for about 3 minutes, so that a uniform colour is obtained. The Aggregate component (marked “C”) is then slowly added to this mix, making sure only a small quantity is added at a time and no air is entrained during mixing. Only that much material should be prepared which could be applied in 25 minutes, it is suggested that only one pack be mixed at a time.
The surface to receive Mitchmortar EP should be free from dirt, dust, grease, oils, cement laitance and other loose material. Also make sure that the surface is completely dry as presence of moisture could affect proper bonding. The application of Mitchmortar is carried out in layers, the thickness of each layer should not exceed 5 mm. After placing each layer the surface is smoothed and leveled with a trowel or scrapper. Once the final layer is placed the surface is leveled and finished with a steel trowel.
Mitchmortar EP is touch dry in about 3 to 4 hours, it is ready for foot traffic in 48 hours while it can bear heavier traffic and loads 72 hours after placement.
Normally for clean, slightly porous and rough surfaces no primer is required. But for very smooth surfaces it may be necessary to first coat the surface with Mitchell’s PRIMER EP and then apply Mitchmortar EP to the tacky surface.
